of the Chords is back for its second year, promising another exciting eveni
ng of live music, community connection, and youth talent. Clash of the Chor
ds 2 will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Lindsay Legion.\nOrgan
ized and hosted by local Grade 12 student Jonas Giese of LCVI, the event wa
s created to give young musicians a chance to perform in a supportive, live
setting—something that can be difficult to find in the Kawartha Lakes area
. With a growing lineup of talented performers, this year’s event is expect
ed to build on the energy and success of its inaugural show.\n“Clash of the
Chords is all about giving youth musicians a stage and a community that su
pports them,” says Giese. “It’s a fun night, but it also creates real oppor
tunities for young artists to be seen and heard.”\nIn addition to showcasin
g emerging talent, the event continues its commitment to giving back. A por
tion of proceeds will once again be donated to United Way Haliburton Kawart
ha Lakes, an organization Giese has supported and volunteered with since ea
rly childhood.\nCommunity support has played a key role in making the event
possible. Local businesses and individuals, including JJ Thevasagayam, PB&
amp;J Comics, Burns Bulk Food, The Loaded Spud, and more have contributed t
hrough sponsorships and in-kind donations. \nLong & McQuade is also sup
porting the event by providing a gift card for the winning band and goodie
