SUMMARY:Warm Winter Clothing Drive
LOCATION:United Way office at 50 Mary Street West
DESCRIPTION:Community Partners Launch Winter & Warm Clothing Donation Drive\nLet’s
Keep Our Community Warm\nLindsay, ON — October 30th 2025 — As the cold weat
her sets in, many individuals and families in our community are struggling
without proper winter clothing. In response to this urgent need, United Way
Haliburton Kawartha Lakes, in partnership with the John Howard Society of
the Kawarthas (JHS) and the Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton K
awartha Pine Ridge (CMHA), is launching a Winter & Warm Clothing Donati
on Drive to help ensure everyone can stay safe and warm this season.\nThe c
ommunity is encouraged to donate clean, gently used winter clothing, jacket
s, and accessories to help those in need.\n📍 Drop-Off Location: United Way
Office — 50 Mary Street West, Lindsay\n📅 Date: Friday, November 24th\n🕘 Tim
e: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.\nMany don’t realize just how great the need for wa
rm clothing truly is. Local agencies such as JHS and CMHA report that indiv
iduals have already been reaching out for winter essentials that are in sho
rt supply. For those experiencing homelessness, the challenges are even gre
ater — when their clothing becomes wet, they often have no access to dryers
or warm spaces to dry it, forcing them to abandon the garments altogether.
Without community support, staying warm and dry can become an impossible t
ask.\n“This initiative is about community compassion in action,” said Mike
Giese of United Way Haliburton Kawartha Lakes. “We know the need is real, a
nd we’re grateful to be working alongside our partners to make sure no one
faces the winter cold alone. Together, we can stay united in warmth.”\nAll
donations will be distributed through local service partners to individuals
and families in need across the region.\nFor more information or to ask qu
estions about the donation drive, please contact Mike at (705) 878-5081 or
